Richard Seagle

Richard Seagle has served in ministry at First Baptist Church of New Bern, North Carolina since 1992. During the first 25 years of his tenure at New Bern, Richard was Associate Pastor of Youth and Family Life. Early in 2016, the church called him to be their Senior Pastor. Dr. Seagle has been heavily involved in missions throughout his life participating in and leading approximately 100 mission teams throughout the United States and internationally. The first time he led a mission team to Guatemala was in 2012 where he met Roger and Vicki Grossman and felt a deep sense of calling to help with the mission and ministry that they were undertaking with the people who lived there.

Richard is a native of Marion, North Carolina. He has been married to Melodie Bowen Seagle since 1991. They have two adult children, Chandler and Jenna. Richard enjoys spending time traveling with his family, music, reading and is a UNC Tar Heel sports fanatic.

Good Shepherd Ministries in Guatemala is a ministry of International Indigenous Community Development (IICD) in partnership with Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina and North Carolina Baptists on Mission.

Good Shepherd Ministries helps individuals in indigenous communities to become followers of Christ as they focus on spiritual, physical, emotional and community needs.
