New Blood

We have a new medical school student at the Good Shepherd Clinic. We are happy to have the students and proud to be a site the national university trusts to send students. The students help us in the community outreach, schools, home visits, etc. and all of those make a difference in people´s lives. The student will begin working in the public school approximately one kilometer away from the clinic this next week. The director has been very welcoming and asked specifically for our clinic psychologist, who is with us on Tuesdays, to work with some troubled students. The medical school student´s role will be to assess the students for malnutrition, a very common problem in Guatemala, and give classes to both the students and the parents. The clinic will provide children´s vitamins she can give to the parents to give to their children.
