Good Shepherd Training Center

The Good Shepherd Health and Training Center is located in a beautiful Quiché village, Chirijquiac.  There are 13 villages in the immediate surrounding area which allows for easy access to the center and clinic.  The center is the heartbeat of the ministry and it's mission is to equip and train national believers in a culturally-relevant way so that they can go and reach their own people for Christ.  This training creates camaraderie and a sense of belonging and purpose.

The center is used for Christian leadership training for youth, women, lay leaders, and pastors. These conferences are well-received and provide a unity of vision and purpose.  It is also used for church retreats, community activities and meetings.  The center can house 50 adults comfortably and is also used for outings for the older children from the Good Shepherd Children's Home. .

With support from several key individuals and churches and a strong partnership with North Carolina Baptists on Mission, construction began on the center in 2011.  Since then, many teams and thousands of people have come to Guatemala to participate in the ministry and assist in constructing buildings for the Good Shepherd Ministry. Teams are always needed and if you are interested in finding out how you can help click on the "More Information" tab.

Good Shepherd Ministries in Guatemala is a ministry of International Indigenous Community Development (IICD) in partnership with Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina and North Carolina Baptists on Mission.
